Skin care visits typically begin with an intensive skin consultation. The essential facial includes analysis, cleansing, a papaya enzyme mask, extractions, a light facial massage, a final mask, moisturizer, eye cream and sunblock, and the luxury version adds upper back, neck and shoulder massage with a longer facial massage. Glycolic, lactic or salicylic facials add an acid peel, and the Moisture Boost facial uses moisture-rich products and a collagen sheet mask that also treats the eyelids.

According to the spa, its mixing lab is its most distinctive feature. Only Yourx Skin Care is blended by hand on the spot for each client rather than mass produced, and the base products contain plant extracts, natural minerals, and naturally sourced vitamins and proteins. Base prices rise when more additives are chosen.

Microdermabrasion uses a light flow of crystals to remove dead skin. Dermaglow suits mild acne scarring, blackheads and hyperpigmentation in about 35 minutes, while Synergie, at about 60 minutes, is suited to maturing skin and hyperpigmentation and includes vacuum-assisted massage and a mask. The DermaSound Elite treatment, by Glymed, combines ultrasound, microcurrent and cavitation.

Massages come in 30, 60 and 90 minute lengths, including a 25-minute Pick Me Up performed over clothing without lotion, a body scrub with an aromatherapy wrap, and a one-hour pregnancy massage with prenatal-approved lotion, offered past the first trimester. The Synergie AMS device combines vacuum massage with applied pressure and is FDA approved as a method for temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite. The spa says the best results come from a series of 16 treatments.

Bridal services cover makeup, trial makeup, day-of makeup, lashes and brow work. Spa coordinators arrange appointments for the bride and wedding party, and a trial session is suggested first; clients are asked to bring photos of looks they like. Makeup can be done on location for an extra fee, quoted by phone, and airbrushing is not offered. The makeup studio has four stations and a custom foundation system, along with mineral makeup, BB and CC creams and refillable eyeshadow kits.

Waxing is offered to men and women. The spa asks clients who use certain prescription or antihistamine medicines for extended periods to say so before waxing, to avoid sun two to three days before and after, and, if shaving, to let hair grow at least two weeks for best results. Bookings are made by phone. Skin care packages must be paid at the first treatment, package holders receive a 10 percent discount on skin care products, and treatments are best kept one to three weeks apart with prescribed home care.
