Alicia Igess

Alicia Igess is a salon studio in Atlanta, owned by Alicia Igess, and it works by appointment only, so walk-ins are not accepted.

The main services are Luxe Full-Service Styling, which covers washing and blow-dry, color, precision cuts and premium extensions, and Wedding Hair and Glam. The wedding service covers day-of hair styling and glam for the wedding party across wedding events, and the glam team includes hair stylists, makeup artists, style consultants, seamstresses and assistants. Free wedding consultations are requested through a contact form, and the team replies within 48 hours to set up a call. The studio also takes bookings for destination weddings and events both within the United States and abroad.

The owner also runs a sister brand, Urban Tangles, which was founded in 2002 in Atlanta's MLK historic district and later moved to Buckhead, where it operated for 12 years. Urban Tangles sells textured human hair extensions, closures, clip-in and tape-in extensions and wigs, including custom wigs, through its online shop. Textured extensions start at $62.99 USD, with other items priced higher.

Beyond hair services, the owner offers business training for hairstylists and salon owners through Untangle University, and a multi-day program called the Hairstylist Reset Retreat, which uses the Beauty Business in a Binder curriculum and currently has a waitlist. A five-day retreat for women is held in Negril, Jamaica. A free download, The Freelance Hairstylist Starter Kit, is also available. The salon describes its owner as an award-winning hairstylist and says it has worked with some well-known Atlanta clients. Plans are in place to turn the salon into a full-service makeover studio with educational space.

Services are by appointment only, and the studio pairs hair styling with wedding glam and with education for other stylists and salon owners.

The Urban Tangles space is described as intimate and quaint.
