Advanced Modern Beauty focuses on lashes, brows, lip and eyeliner permanent makeup, skin care and waxing. The salon says every treatment is performed by a state-licensed, advanced-certified professional, and that its work is guided by safety, sanitation and client comfort.

About

Eyelash extensions are individual imitation lashes placed one at a time onto natural lashes with semi-permanent glue. A full set takes about two hours, and lengths run from 6mm to 17mm in several shapes and colors. Styles include classic, hybrid, volume, staggered volume, mega volume and bottom lashes. A lash lift, a perm of natural lashes set against a silicone pad, lasts up to eight weeks and takes 45 minutes to an hour. Fills are charged as full sets when 60% or more of the work is needed. First-time lash clients get a free consultation and allergy test, and each lash product is opened in front of the client. Clients are asked to remove eye makeup with an oil-free cleanser and take out contact lenses before arriving, and lash shampooing two to three times a week is recommended to extend wear.

Permanent makeup and brows are handled with mapping and approval first. Lip work includes blended lip liner and a full lip tattoo color tint, each with a five-week follow-up. Eyeliner options range from lash enhancement that places a thin line between the lashes and lasts three to five years, to eyeliner tattoo, where pigment is placed in the dermis. Lip and eyeliner outlines are mapped and approved by the client before work begins. Microblading places semi-permanent, hair-like strokes matched to the client's natural brow color. The first session takes 2.5 to 4 hours with a retouch four to six weeks later, and results last one to three years. Microshading is a softer, powdered alternative, and a $100 deposit is required to book microblading. Brow shape is drawn and approved before any pigment goes in. Permanent makeup and microblading staff are described as licensed and bloodborne pathogen certified, and tools and pigments are opened fresh in front of the client.

Skin care includes a 50-minute customized facial with massage, mask, steam, cleanser, moisturizer, toner, eye cream and serum. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliation used to address sun damage, fine lines, age spots and acne scarring. Dermaplaning removes facial hair and dead skin cells. Chemical peels use lactic, glycolic or salicylic acids for uneven pigmentation, dryness, acne and fine lines. Peels include a free consultation and allergy test, and can be added to any service for $40. Packages of facials, microdermabrasion sessions and chemical peels are available, along with an AMB special of microdermabrasion facials. All skin care is performed by a licensed esthetician. Waxing removes hair from the root, with results lasting four to six weeks. Both regular and sugar waxing are offered across the face and body, using wax formulated for different skin types and sensitivities. Waxing is also performed by a licensed esthetician.

The academy teaches microblading, advanced permanent makeup, eyelash extensions and skin care in English and Spanish. Classes are kept small, with hands-on practice on live models, and students receive certification on graduation. Business training is listed at $700 and is free for academy students. The academy page says it has trained more than 500 students and reports a 4.9 star rating.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice incur a fee of 75% of the scheduled service price. No-shows and no-calls are charged 75% of the full service. If a late arrival prevents the service from being completed, the appointment is cancelled and rebooking costs 75%.
