About

The practice has two offices, one on North Harlem Avenue in Chicago and one on North Barrington Road in Hoffman Estates, and offers medical, cosmetic, pediatric, and surgical dermatology under one roof. Medical care covers skin, hair, and nail conditions in adults, adolescents, and eligible children, including acne, rosacea, hidradenitis suppurativa, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, melasma, hair loss, and warts.

Pediatric care sees children and adolescents older than one year. Infants aged six months to one year may be seen with the physician's prior approval, so parents should phone the office before booking an infant visit. Pediatric concerns include childhood eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, acne, rashes, insect bites, warts, molluscum contagiosum, impetigo, fungal infections, birthmarks, moles, and hair and nail disorders.

Cosmetic visits start with a consultation to discuss concerns and goals and to settle on a suitable treatment. Options include Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport injections, which are different brands of botulinum toxin and are not interchangeable with one another; dermal fillers, including Restylane; a Sculptra consultation and treatment; microneedling on its own or with platelet-rich plasma or selected skin-care products; PRP/PRF facial rejuvenation and PRP/PRF hair restoration; HydraFacial, which cleanses, exfoliates, and removes surface debris while applying selected solutions; and chemical peels. These treatments are directed at facial redness and rosacea, pigmentation, acne scars, skin texture and enlarged pores, fine lines, and non-surgical skin rejuvenation. Results vary.

Surgical dermatology is offered as in-office procedures. Services include skin biopsies (shave and punch, with pathology review and follow-up), excision of suspicious moles and other lesions, cyst removal, removal of noncancerous growths, and treatment using electrosurgery, electrocautery or cryotherapy. Wounds are repaired after lesion removal. Skin cancer evaluation and diagnosis covers basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. Because not every skin cancer or stage is treated in the office, referral is decided case by case. Procedure appointments run about two and a half hours, and a follow-up is usually booked about two weeks later unless the physician advises otherwise.

The practice accepts many plans, including BCBS PPO and HMO, Aetna PPO, Cigna PPO (Open Access), Humana PPO, Wellcare PPO, Oscar, Devoted, UnitedHealthcare, and several Medicare plans. HMO referral is required for BCBS, Oscar, Devoted, and UnitedHealthcare plans. It does not accept Zing plans, out-of-state insurance, or Medicaid. Clinic hours include the third Thursday of each month from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and callers can ask about additional appointment times. Phone is 773-385-6069. Email is for nonurgent feedback only, and medical information and photographs should not be sent by email.

Cosmetic care starts with a consultation, and medical, cosmetic, pediatric, and surgical services are offered together in one practice.
