About

Rachael opened Acronychous in 2017 to bring nail art and design to Colorado. The name comes from ancient Greek and refers to having nails, claws, talons or hooves. The salon describes itself as the best nail shop in Denver and as a teaching salon in many ways, and each technician brings their own style to the work.

The salon puts client care, sanitation and high-quality gel products at the center of its work. Sanitation follows state protocols for disinfection. The shop does not use monomer liquid, and it favors products that are mostly odorless and meet high manufacturing standards. A dust and odor capture system and an air filtration system that cycles the air every thirty minutes are meant to lower client exposure to chemicals such as acetone and to reduce odor. Technicians are trained to spot potential nail problems and suggest treatment elsewhere, but they are not licensed to diagnose or treat nail disease.

Services are offered by appointment only, and open availability is posted on the 1st of each month. Each technician sets their own pricing and appointment times, so exact prices are listed on the booking link. For nail art, clients can bring inspiration photos, describe what they want, or leave the design to the technician, and the design is chosen within the booked time. Children are not permitted at appointments. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late without contacting the salon are charged the full appointment cost. Cancellations made 48 hours ahead are charged half the service cost, and cancellations within 24 hours are charged in full. Cancellations are posted on Instagram, and there is no waitlist. Appointments may be canceled on Denver school snow days, with rescheduling offered.

Street parking is widely available nearby, but Denver street sweeping takes place on the second week of the month from April through November, so clients should allow extra time to park and observe the signs.

Focused on client care, state-compliant sanitation and high-quality gel products, with an aim to reduce chemical exposure and odor in the shop.
