Accurate Electrolysis operates from a suite in Mission Viejo and serves clients throughout Orange County. The practice works only in electrolysis, a method of permanent hair removal, and treats a wide range of areas including the face, eyebrows, lip, ears, underarms, back, bikini line, breast and chest, abdomen, arms and legs. It also addresses ingrown hairs, including in the beard area.
Visits begin with a consultation. Clients are asked to download the patient information sheet ahead of their first appointment. For some cases, such as treating hairy moles, a physician's written permission is required. Electrolysis can be done at any age, but clients under 18 need consent from a parent or guardian.
Sessions are booked by the hour, in blocks of one hour, 45 minutes, 30 minutes or 15 minutes. The electrologist chooses between galvanic, thermolysis and blend methods for each client, using the Apilus SX-500, a computer-controlled 13.56 MHz system with several application modes. Each treatment uses a new sterile disposable needle, and tweezers are sterilized before every session.
After electrolysis, clients can add cataphoresis, in which an ionizable product is applied using the positive pole of the machine. The business says this step reduces redness and that skin looks close to normal within 30 to 45 minutes. The practice also explains how to prepare, such as avoiding caffeine before treatment and deodorant before an underarm session, and how to care for skin afterward, including avoiding makeup for at least 24 hours after facial work and wearing sunscreen during healing. Mild redness, welting or swelling is described as normal and usually fades within hours.
Recommended spacing depends on the area. Facial hair areas such as the chin, brows and upper and lower lip are typically booked weekly at first, then spaced further apart for maintenance, while underarm and bikini appointments are generally every two weeks.
The practice promotes electrolysis as its core method, and says it is the only permanent hair removal method approved by the FDA and suitable for all skin types and hair colors. It also cites a long history of safety and says laser hair removal carries risks such as nerve damage and burns, which it presents as a reason to choose electrolysis.
