About Faces Day Spa & Salon traces its beginnings to 1970, when it first opened in Pikesville. Today it has four Maryland locations: Towson, in The Shops at Kenilworth; Timonium, serving Ruxton, Cockeysville, Lutherville and Hunt Valley; Pikesville, inside the Festival at Woodholme; and Salisbury. Hair designers are trained to tailor cuts to each client's personality and lifestyle, and services are customized to hair texture. Timonium's full-service salon focuses on face-flattering cuts, dimensional color and extensions. Color work uses Wella color and color gloss, with options from single-process color to partial and full highlights, lowlights, multi-level highlights and balayage. Senior stylists specialize in hair smoothing treatments and hair extensions. Haircare consultations are complimentary, while extensions, smoothing and permanent straightening begin with a consultation. Haircare pricing depends on the stylist's experience, skill certification and continuing advanced education, and a DesignCut carries an added charge when combined with color or perms.

On the skin and body side, licensed skincare specialists analyze the skin and recommend treatments and routines for home. Facials use clinical-grade lines from Caudalie, SkinCeuticals and G.M. Collin, and include custom European facials, express and mini facials, LED light therapy, dermaplaning and LuminFusion by Dermalogica. Dermaplaning and LuminFusion start with a 15-minute consultation for clients new to them, and the dermaplaning consultation is for women 18 and older. Massage options include Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, CBD, sports, aromatherapy and pregnancy massage, the latter offered after the first trimester. Each massage runs for its full stated time, with five minutes added before and after for changing.

Nail services include classic, spa and French manicures and pedicures, a Dazzle Dry system for natural nails that uses no UV lights, and a Footlogix Medi Pedi with a Footlogix mousse foot care line. Waxing uses a soy-based system with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Clients are asked to allow at least ten days of growth before a first waxing and to stop glycolic or alpha hydroxy acid products three to five days beforehand; waxing is not performed for clients taking Retin A or Accutane. Makeup and lash services include makeup application and lessons, brow and lash tinting, lash lifts, and semi-permanent lash extensions and XTreme Lashes, which are offered only at Towson and Timonium and require a consultation for XTreme Lashes.

Bridal services include formal hairstyling in classic up-do or contemporary styles, makeup application, and French manicure and pedicure. A trial run for hair and makeup is offered at the same prices as the wedding services, and a trial is recommended at least a week ahead. Appointments should be booked at least three months in advance. Brides can also book consultations with a skin care specialist to coordinate waxing and with a hair professional to plan color. Gift packages range from Spa Bliss, about 2.5 hours, to Day of Beauty, about 7 hours, and bundle massage, facials, manicure, pedicure, hairstyle or makeup. Gift certificates can be bought online or in person, are redeemable at all four locations, and can be used toward packages, services, products or any dollar amount.
