About Face & Body says it has helped clients remove unwanted hair for more than 25 years. Electrolysis is the practice's focus, and the owner, Marianne Sadowski, performs the treatments herself.

Electrolysis works with a fine probe that delivers a short, low-intensity electrical pulse to each follicle. The salon says the method treats most areas of the face and body and works on every hair type and color, including white, blonde and gray hair, across all skin tones. It also says electrolysis is the only hair removal approach it describes as permanent and cleared by both the FDA and the AMA.

A new client starts with a complimentary consultation. Each client then receives an individual treatment plan, and the number of treatments depends on hair density, hormones and pain tolerance. Appointments are meant to begin and end on schedule. Clients can use a numbing cream beforehand, which they can buy online or from a doctor. Treatment fees are based on time: 15 minutes is $60, 30 minutes is $80, 45 minutes is $100 and one hour is $110. Packages of six treatments are offered at a discounted price. The business states that serious sterilization and hygiene standards are followed, and it uses a sterile, disposable probe that does not pierce the skin.
