A3 Acu Wellness

A3 Acu Wellness combines Chinese medicine with a modern, patient-centered approach. Acupuncture is offered alongside conventional medical evaluation, medications, physical therapy, lab testing and specialist care, rather than in place of them, and the practice works with patients' physicians and other providers when that is appropriate.

A first visit is a longer conversation about health history, symptoms, sleep, stress and daily routines, followed by an acupuncture assessment and a customized treatment plan. Practitioners review medical history, diagnoses, medications and test results when they are available. Patients are asked to bring a list of medications, supplements, diagnoses and recent test results, to wear loose, comfortable clothing, and to eat a light meal beforehand unless told otherwise. Sterile, single-use needles are used.

What a visit includes depends on the practitioner's scope, and may draw on acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, guidance on daily habits, nutrition support, and other complementary East Asian medicine methods. Current prices: a 75-minute first-visit consultation for $160; a 75-minute initial assessment with treatment for $165; cupping (25 minutes) for $90; auricular therapy (15 minutes) for $45; cosmetic acupuncture (60 minutes) for $250; and a 90-minute session combining gua sha with a facial for $225.

Appointments are booked online through the Jane booking site. The practice accepts the CareCredit card for health, wellness and beauty care, which offers promotional financing options and instant credit decisions, subject to credit approval. Gift certificates for services and products can be purchased online.

Care is personalized around each patient's concerns and health goals rather than a single standard plan. Acupuncture is combined with other therapies as needed, and the practice treats it as one part of an integrative plan.
