A Smoother Image is based at 168 Lewis Street in Lynn and provides non-surgical aesthetic treatments. The practice is owned by Karen Walsh, a Registered Nurse who also works as a clinical educator and trainer, and it draws on her experience administering cosmetic treatments in Massachusetts.

Injectables include Botox Cosmetic, which the practice describes as a roughly 10-minute treatment for frown lines between the brows for people aged 18 to 65. Juvederm, a hyaluronic acid gel, is injected under the skin to add volume. Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that gradually replaces lost collagen, and the practice says its results can last more than two years. Radiesse is also offered.

Light-based treatments include IPL photofacial, which is listed for fine lines, freckles, age spots, rosacea, port-wine stains and facial veins, and IPL light therapy, offered for sun spots, rosacea, age spots and skin texture. Laser hair removal uses a laser that targets pigment in the hair. The practice states that unwanted facial and body hair can be permanently reduced with IPL.

Ultherapy uses sound waves to heat deeper tissue to lift and tighten loose skin on the face and neck. According to the practice, a session takes about 30 to 60 minutes, involves no downtime, and its effect builds over the following two to three months. PiXel8-RF pairs bipolar radio frequency energy with micro-needles to tighten skin without surgery. A treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes including aftercare, needle depth is adjustable from 0.5mm to 3.5mm, and some transient redness may last three to four hours, with a fine scab occasionally forming. The practice says it is virtually painless when used with the Arctic Air Chiller.

The practice also sells IS Clinical skincare, which the salon describes as plant-based, botanically derived and free of added perfumes. The range includes a cleanser and toner in one, a hydrating serum that can be mixed with other serums, a vitamin C serum with 15% time-released L-ascorbic acid, and an eye cream. Gift cards are sold in amounts of $50, $100, $250 and $500, or in a custom amount, and can be sent to the buyer, by text, or by email to a recipient.
