Training begins with online theory and then moves to in-person, supervised practice on live models in a professional studio. Classes run monthly and stay small, with one or two students in the in-person intensive. After graduation, students have ongoing support and access to an online community. Student models are also taken for practice.

The academy offers several course formats: an online microblading course that students complete at their own pace, a five-day hands-on microblading and machine shading course, machine courses for brows, eyeliner, or both, and a combined training package. It also teaches a lash lifting course held in the evening, where the lash lift itself takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The school says its brow training has drawn wide interest, that it has won the ASCP award for North America's top microblading training program two years running, and that it has trained more than 1,000 certified students.

Clients can book permanent makeup services with Patty Willardsen or another experienced artist. Payment for hands-on training begins with a $500 deposit that secures a seat and is credited toward the upfront amount if the student finances through TFC Tuition. TFC Tuition covers up to 75% of the course cost, with the balance due two weeks before training, and loan terms typically run 12 to 18 months.

Theory is taught online first, followed by supervised hands-on practice on live models in small classes.
