About

The spa is housed in a renovated 1774 house on Great Road (Route 2A). The building keeps its original wood beams, ceilings and horsehair plaster, and the interior blends those old-world details with modern comforts and Asian touches. Many windows make the rooms bright.

Owners Cindy McCullough and D. Schweppe created and designed the spa, which moved to its current Acton location in November 2014. The spa says its mission is to share a passion for healthier skin and lifestyles through relaxing and therapeutic treatments, and that it aims to help guests look and feel their best. It describes its menu as world class and says many of its providers have stayed for years, some since its first location more than 18 years ago. Staff are supported in continuing education, and the spa says it is committed to local community and global outreach for children and families in need.

Because the spa works by appointment only, the door is kept locked outside booking times so clients are not disturbed during treatments. Appointments can be made by phone at 978.266.1800, by email, or through the online booking link. Client questionnaires must be completed online before the visit, phones should be left in the car or set to vibrate, and late arrivals may mean a shorter treatment. Full body treatments are done unclothed under towels, and clients are asked to shower beforehand. Gratuity is customary at 15 to 20 percent of the treatment price.

The spa uses products from around the world and works with companies it describes as green. Staff test products themselves before adding them to the menu, and skincare is sold in the retail area and through a HydroPeptide shop page. Guests can also buy design-your-own gift certificates online or by phone, sent by email or mailed, and any gift card or retail item can be wrapped for free. The spa also hosts corporate events and parties, including a personalized Spa Party option.

Each provider brings their own style to the work, so treatments are customized rather than standardized.
