William Samson, MD

William Samson, MD, is a plastic surgeon at the practice and a senior associate of New York Plastic Surgical Group. He is board-certified, has more than 10 years in practice, lists FACS after his name, and belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Aesthetic Society (ASAPS).

He earned his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His training covered a five-year general surgery program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – Cornell, a first year of plastic surgery at Emory University, and two further years of plastic surgery through the NewYork-Presbyterian Combined Cornell and Columbia University Programs. He completed a microsurgery and breast reconstruction fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Before medical school, he joined an undergraduate research program at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and then worked a year as a research fellow in the Department of Tumor Immunology.

Mount Sinai West recruited him, and there he took on leadership duties: an associate chief role within plastic surgery and oversight of the department's academic program. He has trained more than 50 plastic surgery residents, is invited to speak at conferences, and has published on microvascular reconstructive surgery and on aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.

His clinical focus covers cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, with particular interest in breast reconstruction, aesthetic breast surgery and complex revision breast cases. He also performs skin cancer reconstruction and non-surgical treatments, with BOTOX and dermal fillers delivered by a technician team.

He is internationally recognized and one of the top breast surgeons in New York City. He won Castle Connolly's Top Doc Award in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
