Waheed Mohamed, DDS, MD

Waheed Mohamed, who holds DDS and MD degrees, practices at Carolinas Faces in Charlotte, where he is board-certified in two specialties and also listed as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Cosmetic and facial reconstructive surgery has been his work in Charlotte since 2012. Roughly a decade of training and practice centered on the face came before his cosmetic fellowship. His schooling spanned the University of Texas, Baylor College of Dentistry and Louisiana State University. A maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction internship brought him to New Orleans; afterward, at LSU, he completed a general surgery internship and an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency that addressed trauma, pathology, corrective jaw work and facial cosmetic surgery. Fellowships followed, one in full-body cosmetic procedures at The Cosmetic Surgical Center of Texas and another in cosmetic surgery with Dr. Howard Tobin. Focus areas are otoplasty, cosmetic corrective jaw surgery, rhinoplasty and liposculpture. His certifications come from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. During Hurricane Katrina he worked in New Orleans, earning a national community service award for that work. A national resident award recognized his research.
