W. Scott McDonald, MD

W. Scott McDonald, MD is a certified cosmetic surgeon and plastic surgeon at My Cosmetic Surgery in Miami, Florida, and he also runs a private practice based in the city. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has more than 14,000 patients. He is also an aesthetic surgeon at the clinic.

He trained at the Louisiana State University Faculty of Medicine, where he graduated and completed a general surgery residency. He then completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the New York University Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also trained in craniofacial surgery, which included a year of intensive training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and he earlier spent a year doing research there.

His specialties are plastic and reconstructive surgery and craniofacial surgery. Procedures include Brazilian butt lift, liposuction, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, abdominoplasty and mommy makeover. He has taught plastic and reconstructive surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and the University of Miami School of Medicine, and he has taken part in training and exchange programs in Cuba, Haiti, Palestine and Colombia. He received a resident teaching award from the plastic surgery division at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, and he has a 2000 research award from the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons Foundation. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Plastic Surgeons Society of Miami, as well as on the board of directors of the Dade County Medical Association.
