Vikram Mookerjee MD

Vikram Mookerjee, MD, is a plastic surgeon at Plastic Surgery Institute, where he practices in both Beverly Hills and Rancho Mirage. He is Ivy League-educated and fellowship-trained. His path began with a seven-year B.A./M.D. program at Boston University that took him from high school straight into medical school. He then completed a plastic surgery residency at Yale University, where he also did research in face transplantation, followed by the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Southern California, which concentrated on cosmetic surgery of the face and body.

He was hand-selected and personally mentored by Dr. Ritu Chopra at Plastic Surgery Institute. His clinical focus includes eyelid rejuvenation, breast surgery, and the Preservation Facelift, a proprietary procedure of his. He also performs submandibular gland reduction as part of jawline contouring and works across a wide range of aesthetic procedures.

On the research side, he has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles and given dozens of presentations at national conferences. His published work includes studies on nasal tip positioning in rhinoplasty and on racial disparities in surgical outcomes, and he co-authored a 2025 study on suture biomechanics in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He serves on the editorial board of Aesthetic Surgery Journal as an invited Next Generation Editor. He received the Yale Plastic Surgery Scholastic Award for the highest In-Service exam score in his residency program, the Department of Surgery Helping Hand Award at Yale, and the Young Investigator Award for research in face transplantation and facial reconstruction.
