Tonya Michele

Tonya Michele is the owner and stylist at The Cosmo Lounge Salon in Bowie, Maryland, with about twenty years of experience. She trained at Graham Webb International Hair Academy, where her studies covered classical technique, precision cutting and color theory, and she learned under an instructor named Jerald, who came from Britain. She holds certifications as a Sequence Smoothing Professional (2019), a Microblading and Microshading Technician (2020), a certified colorist in the Influance Hair Color Line, and in the Sequence Hair Care Keratin System. Her work covers color, highlights, balayage, color correction, brows and microblading, cuts, extensions and keratin treatments. Her clientele has included many high-profile professionals. She has also worked behind the scenes at hair and fashion shows in Washington, Atlanta and New York, and on celebrity photoshoots and tradeshows. She won the Gross Wade Grant in 2024, and the cosmetology community recognizes her as a notable industry leader. Beyond her own chair, she mentors stylists at the salon and promotes young and upcoming artists. She develops her own product line and creates educational content, and she aims to help women feel confident in their own skin.
