Tony Adar

Tony Adar practices as a dermatologist in Alabama and is a Mohs surgeon who completed fellowship training. He is board-certified in both dermatology and Mohs surgery, and his credentials are MD, FAAD and FACMS. He received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, graduating magna cum laude, and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha during medical school. His internship was at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, followed by a dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Training in Mohs micrographic and cosmetic surgery took place in Birmingham, Alabama, under Dr. Gary Monheit. Alongside clinical work, he holds a professorship in dermatologic surgery at New York Medical College, where he served as director of skin cancer surgery. He performs hundreds of skin cancer treatments each year and has over 30 years of general dermatology experience in Birmingham. He belongs to the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgeons and the Women's Dermatologic Society. He also offers free dermatological screenings to underserved communities.
