About
Tommy-Gene Harlow is a Seattle-based stylist, teacher and consultant who divides his time between a busy salon practice and teaching. Color is his main focus. He won L'Oréal's Pure Vision Styling contest. Seattle Magazine and the local stations KING 5, KIRO 7, KOMO 4 and KCPQ 13 have covered his color and styling work.
He began a national teaching career with Redken, Fifth Avenue. In Seattle he leads The Color Guide, SHINE Class and The Ultimate Pony Tail Workshop, and through Go Girl Academy he runs Professional, Polished and Pretty styling workshops. Those sessions focus on helping clients maintain a look between visits or experiment with a new one.
Allure, Seventeen Magazine, CNN and The Today Show have credited his work, and recording artists Mandy Moore and the Backstreet Boys do as well. His most recent clients include Kathie Lee Gifford and Miss Washington Brittney Henry. Beyond color, he aims to give cuts and finishes the same attention, and recreating a salon look at home is more manageable than many people assume.
