Thomas Casey Gallagher, MD

Thomas Casey Gallagher, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon who co-founded Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology after moving to Colorado. He holds certification from the American Board of Dermatology in Mohs surgery and performs Mohs procedures. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and of the American Contact Dermatitis Society. He received his degree from Harvard University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude. He then completed medical school and an internship at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by a dermatology residency at New York University, where the training covered medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. He also received the UCSF-Reiner International Health Research Fellowship and an American Medical Student Association fellowship for research in Kenya. He was appointed Assistant Professor in NYU's Department of Dermatology, where he taught residents and directed the Residency Selection Committee. He kept a private practice through NYU's Dermatology Faculty Practice and co-founded a free clinic for uninsured patients in Manhattan. He has published in peer-reviewed medical journals and a dermatology textbook, contributes dermatology expertise to the Medical Review Board of About.com, and holds a seat as a Medical Expert Board Member for Very Well Health. He has also served on the boards of the Boulder Valley Independent Practice Association, the Boulder County Medical Society and the Colorado Medical Society. Castle Connolly Top Doctors selected him in 2023, and he appeared in the August 2023 edition of 5280's Denver's Top Doctors. He is a member of the Boulder County Medical Society and the American Medical Association, and he speaks fluent Spanish.
