Tarja Anchor

Tarja Anchor works at Advanced Medical Massage Clinic in Crystal Lake, where she practices medical massage and lymphatic drainage. She holds the Certified Medical Massage Practitioner credential, along with CLT and HHP credentials. She also performs specialized manual lymphatic drainage.

She completed the Lymphedema Certificate program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which covered manual lymphatic drainage, complete decongestive therapy, compression bandaging, lymphatic anatomy, skin care, therapeutic exercise, compression garments, pneumatic pumps and self-management education. About two-thirds of the program was supervised hands-on practice, case discussions, competency assessment and practical skill work. She has also finished two further general manual lymphatic drainage courses, one of which covered instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization tools.

Her main focus is manual lymphatic drainage for lymphedema, lipedema and care after liposuction. She is trained in specialized approaches for breast, head and neck, truncal, genital and other complex edema presentations.
