Tarek Fakhouri, M.D.

Tarek Fakhouri, M.D., practices Mohs surgery at Spring Dermatology after fellowship training, with a focus on treating skin cancer and on aesthetic reconstruction. He holds board certification from the American Academy of Dermatology and belongs to the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

He began his education as an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University, majoring in economics and molecular biology. He later earned a master's in medical science and his medical doctorate at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He did his internship in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was chief resident and received the Chief's Award, and then completed a dermatology residency in the Wayne State University Department of Dermatology.

His procedural dermatology fellowship was at Surgical Dermatology Group in Birmingham, where he gained extensive experience in Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstruction. He also has training in a range of cosmetic and laser procedures. He formerly directed Mohs surgery for the Wayne State University Department of Dermatology and provided Mohs surgery for the Wayne State University Physician Group network and at the John D. Dingell VA hospital in Detroit.
