About

Tameeka McNeil-Johnson owns The Curl Whisperer and the Jaded Tresses brand, and is known as The Curl Whisperer. Based in New York City, she has spent more than two decades as a natural hair stylist and educator focused on curly and natural textures. She is a licensed natural hair care artist. Her runway work includes a featured stylist role at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and lead styling for Sofistafunk shows. In 2015 she trained salon teams in New York, Puerto Rico, Boston and Curacao in styling techniques, and she has also appeared across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, as well as at hair shows. That same year she began headlining Let Me School You, a traveling natural hair show. She wrote Little Black Book of Rules of Curly Girls, the opening volume of a natural hair book series. She teaches the Certification Master Class on natural hair. For wash and go, she suggests Wash Your D@mn Hair Shampoo and Tres Leches Conditioner, then Nothing Butt-ah Leave-in, Around the Way Gel and Tress Re-Wind mist for styling and refreshing.
