About
Taka Tokuyama is the founder of the salon and is listed as Owner on the price lists. He moved from Japan to New York City in 2004 and began his career at Warren-Tricomi Salon, then worked at Patrick Melville Salon, where he spent seven years as a top stylist across the two salons. He opened his first salon on the Upper East Side in 2011.
His specialty is classic, chic and sexy styles. He has worked as an editorial stylist for magazines including Vogue, Teen Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Nylon, and has styled hair for fashion shows in New York City. Celebrity clients he has styled include Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Petra Nemcova, Jessica Szohr, Edison Chen and Masahiro Tanaka. He also works with everyday women, Manhattan professionals and celebrity clients.
He trains other Japanese-American stylists in his method, and several former assistants have gone on to establish themselves as stylists in New York City.
