Sylvia Essa

Sylvia Essa owns the salon and works as its hair artist. Her training includes a four-year hair academy program in Europe and the Wella Professional Hair Color training program in Munich, Germany. After Wella she continued studying cutting, styling and coloring with several leading stylists in the region, and she attended hair shows led by Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy across Europe. She started working as a professional stylist in salons, photo and TV shoots, and fashion shows in Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia, and worked in that field for about a decade before moving to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles she has worked on hair for TV, film, modeling shoots and private clients. She styles hair each year for the Grammys, Emmys and Oscars, and the Motion Picture & Television Directory recognizes her as one of Los Angeles' Top 10 Beauty Experts. She has more than 15 years of professional experience as a dry cutting and color expert. Her work covers customized blondes, dimensional color, balayage, color correction, creative color and drastic makeovers, and she cuts all hair types, including curly, fine and Asian hair. She has announced plans for educational workshops for professionals and enthusiasts on natural hair sculpting and coloring.
