Sugene Kim, MD

Sugene Kim, MD, is a plastic surgeon who founded SGK Plastic Surgery in The Woodlands, Texas. Her work covers face, body and breast enhancement, and reconstructive breast surgery is also part of her clinical focus. She sees patients from The Woodlands, Conroe, Spring and wider Houston, treating men and women alike. She graduated from Yale University with high honors and magna cum laude in molecular biophysics and biochemistry, then earned her MD from NYU's Mount Sinai School of Medicine. A general surgery residency at Georgetown University followed, where she was chief administrative resident. She then trained under Dr. Berish Strauch in reconstructive microsurgery at Montefiore Medical Center, did cosmetic plastic surgery training with surgeons on Park Avenue in New York City, and later completed a clinical fellowship in breast reconstruction at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She moved to Houston after training in New York. Her specialties include breast augmentation, breast lift, body contouring after pregnancy or weight loss, and the Mommy Makeover. She also offers facelift, eyelid surgery, BOTOX, fillers, lasers and peels. She has been an Allergan Black Diamond Provider for five consecutive years, a status that only the top one percent of aesthetic practices reach. Her awards include the Program Director's Award for outstanding ABSITE performance during postgraduate training, the Marguerite George Award for outstanding vascular surgery in 2004, and the Mother of Pearls Award in 2005, selected as best resident teacher from 450 candidates. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Harris County Medical Association and the Texas Medical Association.
