Stina Leep

Stina Leep is a co-founder of Ginger & Maude, the Portland hair salon, and works as a Lead Stylist and Stylist Manager. In the manager role she oversees staff performance across the four original Portland locations, and she works at the Sellwood, Slabtown, Multnomah Village and Fremont salons. She was one of the first stylists at the business, now in her 16th year with it, within an 18th year in hairstyling overall. Haircuts start at $162.00.

She began beauty school the week of her 17th birthday and completed a two-year apprenticeship at a high-end salon. Precision cutting is a particular strength: she trained for two weeks at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Toronto. Her color education includes classes with PRAVANA and Goldwell custom formulations through Global Educators, and she has worked extensively with KEVIN.MURPHY products, knowing their color line well. Her styling training centers on products.

Her work covers curly haircuts, short styles including pixie cuts, and cutting fine, thick, thin and thinning hair. For color she offers dimensional, grey-blending and grey-coverage work, and she also provides keratin smoothing treatments. Beyond the chair she has taken classes on empowering women, non-violent communication and business management, and she aims to build a safe, positive team atmosphere for everyone at the salon.
