About

Steven Pearlman is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery, a Manhattan practice with an office on Park Avenue. He is dual board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery (ENT), and he holds the FACS credential. He is a full clinical professor at Columbia University and a past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He mentors facial plastic surgeons and teaches facial surgery, rhinoplasty and anti-aging techniques to physicians. His practice centers on rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, including piezo ultrasonic and preservation techniques, along with septoplasty and septorhinoplasty for a deviated septum and breathing concerns. He has performed over 7,500 rhinoplasties and septoplasties, and colleagues who perform primary rhinoplasty often refer their revision patients to him. He also specializes in facelifts and teaches and performs the Extended Deep Plane Facelift. He worked with New York Presbyterian residents on a study of 104 revision rhinoplasty patients, presented at the American Academy's annual meeting, and has an upcoming paper in Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery on why patients seek revision surgery. He lectures internationally on rhinoplasty and facial surgery and teaches fellows and residents. The practice describes him as an educator and humanitarian, and calls him one of the most distinguished plastic surgeons in New York City and among the best facial plastic surgeons in the city. In consultations, he examines the inside of the nose for a deviated septum before cosmetic rhinoplasty, and may use an endoscope photograph in place of a CT scan when there are no chronic sinusitis symptoms. For revision cases he designs a personalized surgical plan, and he may use grafts to build up the nose around a hump so less of the hump needs removal.
