Stephen Hutton

Stephen Hutton holds a DMD, an MS and an MPH and works as the oral surgeon on staff at the Solana Beach practice. He is a periodontal plastic surgeon and implantologist whose work centers on gum treatment, implant placement and LANAP laser regenerative therapy. His periodontal procedures include regeneration with bone grafting and platelet-rich fibrin, along with minimally invasive microsurgery for gum recession, including connective tissue grafting. He also performs bone grafts with L-PRF therapy, sinus lifts guided by 3D imaging, alveoloplasty, tori removal, and wisdom teeth extraction planned with 3D imaging and surgical protocols. Implants are placed using digital planning technology. At the oral surgery consultation, patients can select a sedation option, and recovery plans are tailored to each patient afterward. For more than a decade he has served as adjunct faculty to residents in a postgraduate hospital General Practice Residency dental program. His background includes work in public and private clinics serving diverse patient populations. He lectures nationally on periodontal disease and digitally planned implant surgery, and has published on oral plastic surgery, oral pathology, and tobacco use and oral lesions.
