About
Soraya Whitten founded Soraya Whitten Beauty and works as its makeup artist. Her career started in the 1990s as a telemarketer at Glamour Shots, where she soon began working as a makeup artist.
She has more than 25 years in the cosmetics industry, working with brands including Lancôme, Kevyn Aucoin, Trish McEvoy, Shiseido and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and in retail at Neiman Marcus, Sephora and Saks Fifth Avenue. Her work moved from public-sector clients into private work on video, fashion, editorial, film and music performance. Named clients include Tina and Solange Knowles, Cheryl Creuzot, Anita Baker, Holly Robinson Peete, Renée Elise Goldberry and Chloe and Halle.
She holds an esthetician license, earned in place of a traditional college education, and launched her own beauty line.
