About
Shuki Zikri founded the salon and began working as a hairdresser at Alekson du Paris in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1980. The first official job was as an apprentice to Jean Louis David. He later took over the Alekson du Paris salon and ran it independently. In 1989 he opened a salon under his own name at Ben Yehuda, Israel, with 18 hairdressers. He opened the Shuki Zikri Hair Academy in 1993, which had about 900 students a year and whose certification was accepted worldwide. He started a franchise concept under his name in 1996, and he owns and runs Shuki Zikri Duri, a chain of hair academies. In 2000 he partnered with a charity in Yafo, Israel, to open an upscale salon offering free services to women in need. He has given live hair-cutting performances, presented couture fashion shows, appeared on TV and fashion shows, and acted in movies. He spent 15 years as a presenter for several international hair and fashion awards. He invented the first leave-in hair conditioner, called the balancer, in 1985, and appeared in Germany's book of 100 most influential people in 2007.
