Shima Karimi

Shima Karimi is a licensed esthetician in Virginia and the founder of SK Aesthetic & Wellness. She has about a decade of experience in medical aesthetics and has been licensed as an esthetician since September 2018. Before opening the practice she worked at Austin-Weston and The Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Reston.

Her training took place at Austin-Weston in Reston, a clinical setting alongside board-certified plastic surgeons. In September 2025 she completed manufacturer training on the Sciton JOULE platform.

Her work centers on pigment, including scar camouflage, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and sun damage. She also treats uneven tone and texture concerns such as acne scarring and enlarged pores, offers radiofrequency needling for early loss of firmness, and provides lasers including HALO, BBL, microneedling and laser hair removal. Each visit is photographed under the same lighting, angle and distance so progress can be measured against a record.
