About
Sheila Surdu works as an injector at Moksha Aesthetics in Potomac, where she is listed as an Injector and Laser Specialist. She holds the CANS credential (Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist) and is a Registered Nurse with a BSN. Her earlier career began in the marketing department of an insurance company after college. After earning her BSN she spent a year at a hospital and then three years at a reproductive endocrinologist practice.
Her hands-on work started in Detroit, where she worked with a plastic surgeon and began doing lasers and injections, learning injecting through training with that surgeon. Her first training was on Thermage, an early radio frequency skin tightening device, and she has since trained in cosmetic lasers and injectables and pursued training in hyperdiluted Radiesse. She trained at Aesthetic University in two sessions taught by Hania Khorshidi and Erika Barry. She began doing Botox around 2005.
After moving to the DMV area she worked with another plastic surgeon, handling injectables. Her specialties include full facial assessments, thread lifts and smooth threads for the face and neck, facial dermal filler, dissolve filler, Kybella, neurotoxin injections and laser treatments. She asks each patient what is bothering them before recommending anything and educates them before moving into a specific treatment. Depending on a patient's goals she may steer them toward threads, neurotoxins, filler or lasers. Results often take a few visits, and treatment is a partnership with the patient.
