Sheila Krishna, MD

Sheila Krishna, MD practices medical dermatology in Encinitas, seeing adults and children for the full spectrum of skin concerns. Her education began at MIT, where she earned an undergraduate degree with a double major in biology and foreign languages and Phi Beta Kappa honors. She then earned her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Her dermatology residency took place at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she served as Chief Resident in the Department of Dermatology. A further research year at UCLA with Dr. Lloyd Miller centered on research methods and protocol design. She holds board certification in both dermatology and Mohs surgery, with the Mohs certification earned in 2021, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is among the first physicians nationally to earn board certification in Mohs micrographic surgery. She is affiliated with UCSD Health, and was named a San Diego Top Doctor in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022. With over a decade of experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology and thousands of Mohs cases completed, her work covers medical dermatology, Mohs surgery for skin cancer removal, and cosmetic treatments. She administers Xeomin injections at the practice. She has specialized training in advanced cosmetic procedures and advanced laser treatments, with extensive experience in fractional laser resurfacing.
