Shannon York, NMD, founded True Skin & Wellness and has led it since 2019. She owns the practice, serves as its medical director, and is a licensed naturopathic physician. She has more than 20 years of experience in cosmetic injectables, laser medicine and regenerative aesthetics, and over 17 years in medical aesthetics. Earlier roles include Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director and Corporate Trainer at Derma Health Institute in Arizona from 2009 to 2019, overseeing a multi-clinic aesthetics organization; Medical Director at Blush Medspa from 2008 to 2009, leading physician oversight, laser certification and staff education; and Owner and Medical Director of Skinovative from 2005 to 2008. Her focus is advanced cosmetic injectables, including Botox, Dysport, JUVÉDERM, SKINVIVE, Radiesse and Restylane; laser medicine such as IPL, Laser Genesis, vascular treatments, hair removal and resurfacing; and regenerative aesthetics, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and medical weight management. She has worked with Cutera, Lumenis, Alma, Palomar and CO2 laser systems, and has trained physicians, nurses and aesthetic providers in injection technique and laser medicine. She personally performs and oversees the practice's advanced injectable, laser and regenerative treatments, and offers only services she personally trusts. Her training includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University in 1997 and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, in 2005. She stays current in injectables, laser technology and regenerative therapies through advanced training, and has completed Allergan Medical Institute training in SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC injection technique. She aims for natural, balanced outcomes rather than overdone ones.
