Sergio Slavnov

Sergio Slavnov is the owner stylist of Haircuts by Sergio and is a licensed professional in New York State. He has over 20 years of experience in hair cutting and has worked from a private studio since 2004. He began cutting hair young, first his own and then those of schoolmates, and completed training at a hairstyling academy.

He later won several hairdressing competitions, including an international one, and was employed by a high-end salon. Before moving to the US he worked with Soviet celebrities and in top salons, and within a year of arriving he was working at a West Village salon. Over many years he toured as the hairstylist for Neil Sedaka and Elton John. His clients have included models and celebrities such as Richie Sambora and Joseph Morgan, and he has styled male models for photo shoots and runway shows.

He focuses on longer men's hairstyles, cut mainly with texturing scissors and layered scissor cuts to bring out natural movement. He is experienced in all men's styles, from short cuts to long razor shags. Most of his current clients are between 17 and 33, including students, artists, lawyers and software engineers. He founded the Avenue Man hair product line and produces its hairstyling tutorials and photo shoots. His haircut and styling videos have received over 20 million views across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram reels.
