About

Sanjay K. Sharma, M.D., F.A.C.S., founded SKS Plastic Surgery, PA in Austin in 2003 to serve Central Texas and has practiced there for over 20 years. He earned a chemistry degree at Washington University in St. Louis and a medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine. At Baylor he completed general and plastic surgery training, then spent a year in orthopedic hand surgery at the University of Washington, which included microvascular surgery training. Professionally, he has been Chief of Plastic Surgery at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, Director of Hand Surgery Services at Dell Seton and at University Medical Center Brackenridge Hospital, Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery with Ascension Medical Group, and Clinical Assistant Professor at Dell Medical School. He moved his practice to the Seton Family of Hospitals Brackenridge Campus in 2009 and has helped build clinical, education and research programs there and at the newer Dell Seton Medical Center. He serves as Medical Director of milk + honey spa, where he oversees the non-surgical offerings. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery. In hand care he addresses wrist pain, arthritis of the small joints and wrist, joint replacement, wrist arthroscopy and endoscopic carpal tunnel release, and also treats distal radius fractures, congenital hand conditions and complex hand trauma. Cosmetic work includes breast augmentation and implant revision, facelifts (including revision facelifts), eyelid, nose and body procedures, and liposuction. He uses only round implants and prefers smooth-walled implants for Austin patients, helping each person choose size and profile according to frame, chest width and goals. Visits begin with an initial consultation and a full medical history before any surgery. He uses techniques aimed at helping patients return to normal or near-normal activity as quickly as possible.
