Sandra Martin

Sandra Martin is the founder of UrbanSkin and a licensed esthetician in California, licensed since 2001 and working hands-on with skin since that year. Her skincare career started at an early medical spa in Berkeley, where she was trained to operate laser hair removal equipment. She later worked in a traditional spa and spent a year with HydraFacial before opening her own practice. She has also worked in medical aesthetics at Claria Clinic in Berkeley, a medical spa founded by a dermatologist, and her experience includes prescription Obagi protocols for a physician's patients and laser consultations for tattoo, vein and hair removal. She rebuilt her practice in Moraga in 2021 under the UrbanSkin name.

She trained at Paris Beauty College and at MUD Makeup Designory in Los Angeles. Her focus is corrective skincare, including acne, resurfacing, dermaplaning and peels, and her clients range from teens to adults, including people with sensitive skin. She performs advanced chemical peels only for clients she already knows, and she performs every Glass Skin Reset treatment herself.

She chooses the treatment acid for each client rather than offering a menu, and she selects the peel formulation, strength and number of layers at each visit based on how the skin responds. She applies one layer at a time and checks the skin before deciding whether to add another.
