About
Sal Misseri founded Reverie Salon in River North, Chicago, where he serves as Owner and Creative Director and works as a cutting and color stylist. His listed specialties are haircutting, color, men's styling and editorial work, and he is known for his signature razor and dry cutting. He also performs Air Touch, balayage, dimensional and corrective color, grey blending, The Bespoke Grey Transition and his own Bespoke Renewal Cut, and he leads the salon's grey blending, grey transition and color correction work. A 30-minute consultation with him costs $150, and that fee is credited in full toward any service or product booked within 30 days. His book is limited and typically fills three to six weeks ahead. Before opening the salon, he worked as a Davines Global Artist. From 2016 to 2020 Davines engaged him for new product launches, including The Century of Light bleaching system, and to train its North American hair color education team with an emphasis on foiling and balayage. He spent six years training hairdressers in South Africa, teaching color first. He has taught master classes in the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, South Africa, Canada and the United States, and he served as lead educator at Brown Aveda Institute. He founded Kaizen Education, a professional development platform for stylists that has reached more than nine countries. His background includes editorial, competition and runway work, and he has styled backstage at New York Fashion Week for designers including Christian Siriano and Porsche Design. The salon lists 17 North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) recognitions for him, including three finalist placements for Hairstylist of the Year, a 2012 Newcomer of the Year win, and a nomination as the youngest person ever considered for NAHA Master Hairstylist of the Year. According to the site, he has also won Behind the Chair Creative Colorist of the Year and Estetica's Men's Hairstylist of the Year, was a finalist for the International Visionary Award in London in 2016, and is listed among the Top 30 Under 30 Colorists in North America. His work has appeared in Vogue, Allure, Modern Salon, American Salon, Estetica, Behind the Chair, Bangstyle and Davines campaigns, and GQ has interviewed him.
