Ronald Haggerty, M.D.

Ronald Haggerty, M.D., founded Direct Access Internal Medicine in 2011, a concierge medical practice at 6609 Main Street in Gloucester, Virginia. He earned a bachelor's degree in physiology with honors from Michigan State University and trained at Wayne State University School of Medicine. His residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth began in 1995, and he became board certified in 1998.

He served six years in the Navy, including as a member of Fleet Surgical Team Six and on a deployment aboard the USS Kearsarge to the Mediterranean Sea. After leaving the Navy he entered private practice in Chesapeake, and in 2004 he joined Internal Medicine Associates in Gloucester. At Riverside Walter Reed he started the hospitalist program and served as its Hospitalist Medical Director from 2006 to 2011. He also led the Riverside Walter Reed Hospice program as Medical Director from 2005 to 2014.
