About
Ron Moy, MD is a board-certified dermatologist who founded Moy Fincher Chipps Facial Plastics & Dermatology in 1992. He appears on the practice's team page, and the site lists him among its leading dermatologists alongside Edgar Fincher, Lisa Chipps and Jennifer Herrmann. The site describes him as one of the world's leading cosmetic and facial plastic surgeons and says he worked closely with Jeffrey So, PA-C, for more than 25 years on complex cosmetic and reconstructive cases. He also guided Lauren Moy through her fellowship in Mohs and cosmetic surgery. He completed dermatology residency training at UCLA and a facial cosmetic and Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Center for Health Services. He is a diplomate of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, and he later served as past president of that board. His specialties include cosmetic and facial plastic surgery, face lifts, liposuction, laser skin resurfacing, eye lifts and Mohs micrographic surgery. The site says he has performed more than 30,000 Mohs micrographic and facial plastic surgery cases over more than 25 years of clinical practice. He was a professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a former co-chief of the UCLA division of dermatology and chief of dermatologic surgery there. He served as president of the American Academy of Dermatology from 2011 to 2012, president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery from 2004 to 2005, and president of the CA Division of Medical Quality of the Medical Board of California in 2005. He was also a past president of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, Bay District, and a past editor-in-chief of Dermatologic Surgery. He is credited with more than 200 scholarly articles, has trained more than 20 Mohs and cosmetic surgery fellows, and has mentored more than 250 healthcare workers in dermatology. The site says he received the Samuel J. Stegman, MD Award for Distinguished Service and volunteered dermatologic services at the Venice Family Clinic for more than 25 years.
