About

Rochelle Gonzalez is the founder of The Modern Ū in Los Angeles. She moved to the city in 2015 planning a career in dental hygiene, then began working for a dermatologist, which led her into aesthetics. In 2016 she started at a Santa Monica acne clinic, where she learned Dr. James E. Fulton's method for treating acne, hyperpigmentation and scarring, and was promoted to lead esthetician within two months. She opened The Modern Ū in West Los Angeles in 2017. Her work focuses on correcting acne and hyperpigmentation and on advanced facial rejuvenation, and she is known for her signature extraction method. She treats healthy skin as a sign of overall wellbeing, aiming to rebuild balance, function and resilience. She often sees clients who have felt stuck after other treatments. Much of her clientele comes through referrals, built in West Los Angeles over the last decade. Her certifications include DMK Skin Revision, DMK MD Paramedical, HydraFacial, PCA chemical peels, lymphatic facial massage, sculptural face lifting and dermaplaning, with the most recent dated 2025.
