About

Rocco C. Piazza II founded The Piazza Center, where he serves as lead surgeon. He opened a solo practice in Southwest Austin in 2010 and has been in private practice for 16 years. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2014. Austin Monthly named him a Top Doctor for 2025. He also received Austin Fit Magazine's Best Cosmetic Surgeon award for 2016, 2018 and 2019, RealSelf Top Doctor status for 2014 and 2016, and a place on the Top 5 Most Likeable Doctors list in New York in 2012. He has 14 honors and awards in total. He received a Bachelor of Arts as a University Scholar from Baylor University in 2001, then studied medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. His residency was completed through Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, alongside 20 board-certified plastic surgeons, including Dr. Dennis C. Hammond. He has since finished six preceptorships: advanced breast reconstruction in Chicago in 2014, focused on acellular dermal matrices and fat transfer; programs in Stockholm and Sea Girt, New Jersey in 2015, on anatomically shaped and cohesive gel implants; an advanced facelift technique course in San Francisco in 2016; a MIA Femtech program in Diest, Belgium in October 2025; and a Preservé preceptorship in San José, Costa Rica in June 2025, where he earned Preservé certification. His practice centers on breast augmentation, with particular interest in anatomically shaped implants. He works with Motiva implants and the Motiva Preservé technique, was one of three plastic surgeons leading Motiva's Austin pilot program, became an early U.S. adopter of the Ergonomix implant in fall 2024, and was chosen for the U.S. Surgeon Cohort for the Preservé launch in September 2025. He was one of 36 U.S. board-certified plastic surgeons invited to train with Motiva on Preservé. He also performs breast reconstruction for breast cancer patients, including prepectoral reconstruction with nipple-sparing mastectomy, and he was Austin's first plastic surgeon to pair those two procedures. Body contouring, especially the tummy tuck, is his area of expertise, and tummy tuck, breast lift, liposuction and mommy makeover are among the procedures he lists as favorites. His other work includes facial surgery, breast lifts and laser treatment for sun-damaged skin. He is a nationally known speaker on aesthetic approaches to breast reconstruction, has published, sits on the Allergan Executive Council for Plastic Surgery, and is an active member of The Aesthetic Society. Breast Tissue Preservation principles guide his augmentation work, with a small incision in the fold beneath the breast, and he plans implant size with Crisalix 3D imaging rather than cup size. For Preservé cases he uses 3D chest measurement to choose the implant and size the pocket. For liposuction he prefers the MicroAire PAL power-assisted system over laser. In full tummy tucks he sutures the abdominal muscles together to address diastasis recti, and he aims to keep combined operating time under six hours. He follows breast lift patients for years after surgery and brings newer methods into practice through conferences and research. His aim is top-quality results within a trust-based relationship that builds patient confidence. He sees plastic surgery as one piece of overall wellness, and he aims to build long-term relationships with patients.
