Robert M. Wald, MD

Dr. Robert M. Wald is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has run a private practice in Fullerton, California, since 1986. He earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, graduating with highest honors in 1978. He then worked for two years in general surgery at the University of Colorado. Next came a four-year residency in otolaryngology, followed by a two-year plastic surgery residency at UCLA; together these formed an eight-year combined training program.

He holds certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology (1986) and the American Board of Plastic Surgery (1988), and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1990. He serves as clinical faculty at Harbor-UCLA, where he teaches and trains plastic surgery residents. During his residency he published numerous scientific articles and completed several research projects. For eight years he was Director of Medical Education at St. Jude Medical Center, and he served as its chief of surgery in 1995 and again in 2004. He holds active privileges at St. Jude Medical Center and Placentia-Linda Hospital, and he is a past president of the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons.

He belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has been named one of the Top Doctors by Orange Coast Magazine for the past 10 years and has won numerous awards. He donates plastic surgery services to veterans and to lower-income residents of Orange County.
