Robert M. Paull, M.D.

Robert M. Paull, M.D., is a physician who founded the Center for Dermatology & Laser Skin Surgery in Edison. He earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry at Rutgers College and then did graduate study in biochemistry and research in biochemical genetics at Rutgers University before entering medical school. He graduated from Rutgers Medical School in 1983 and finished an internal medicine residency at Overlook Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons, where he served as an acting instructor at Columbia P&S during that residency. A dermatology fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle followed in 1989.

Laser work has been part of his career since his training, when the technology was still in its early stages, and he has collaborated with laser companies on equipment development. He teaches advanced laser techniques to physicians and helped develop the Skin Laser Center at Overlook Medical Center. His patients range from infants to senior adults.

Since opening his practice, he has taught dermatology to medical students, residents, and Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner students. For more than twenty years he delivered the core dermatology curriculum for the Physician Assistant Program at Rutgers. He belongs to the Dermatological Society of New Jersey, where he sits on the Board of Directors and serves as Legislative Chairperson. He has also worked with the American Academy of Dermatology in Washington, DC, including efforts with members of Congress to provide information for New Jersey members.
