About
Ric Pipino is a hairstylist with more than four decades in the field.
He started cutting hair at sixteen in Sydney, Australia, where he completed a four-year apprenticeship at Barry Livingston Salon. In 1979 he moved to London to work under creative directors who had themselves been trained through Vidal Sassoon, and two years later he settled in New York City.
He has run salons in New York and Miami. Editorial work of his has run in Vogue, Elle, GQ, Marie Claire and Glamour, and he has designed campaigns for Donna Karan and Victoria's Secret. He has worked alongside photographers Annie Leibovitz, Patrick Demarchelier and Richard Avedon, and he has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Access Hollywood. His celebrity clients have included Elle Macpherson, Fergie, Jaime Pressly, Bridget Moynahan and Ali Larter.
His studio work spans red carpets, magazine covers and runway shows, and he styles celebrities, models, business executives and young children. He still takes private clients in cities around the world. Through Ric Pipino Education he trains hairstylists in an international community, and he is building a platform to help parents cut their children's hair at home.
