Renée E. Topala

Renée E. Topala owns Advanced Aesthetics Group in Cincinnati, where she practices as a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Dermatology Nurse Practitioner. Her clinical start was in critical care medicine, and she later moved into dermatology, hair restoration, hormone optimization, metabolic medicine and aesthetic medicine. Her focus areas are dermatology, wellness, weight loss and aesthetics. She graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati with undergraduate degrees in biology, psychology and nursing, then earned a Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Completed fellowships cover dermatology, pediatric dermatology, weight loss medicine and aesthetic medicine, plus research fellowship work in neurobiology through the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Among her publications is work on altered hippocampal patterning in epilepsy. Credentials include ANCC board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and CCRN certification from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. Training and certifications span bioidentical hormone replacement, women's hormonal health and menopause care, peptide therapy and metabolic optimization, medical weight loss and GLP-1 therapy, dermoscopy and skin cancer evaluation, neurotoxins and dermal fillers, and clinical cosmetic dermatology. She spent several years instructing others in advanced aesthetic procedures and injectable techniques, and she gives lectures on hair restoration, wellness optimization, hormone health, metabolic medicine and aesthetic procedures. She serves as a nurse practitioner preceptor for advanced nursing students at the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University, provides mentorship through St. Ursula Academy, and belongs to several professional societies, including The Menopause Society and the International Dermoscopy Society.
