About
Reneé A. Hall founded No Lye Lifestyle, where she serves as CEO, and has worked in hair for more than 35 years. Her start came as a teenager, when she worked with master braider Tulani Kinard. She later opened her first salon, Mo' Betta Braids, which built its client base mainly through word of mouth across a decade.
Her work has included platform styling. She was featured in One Hundred Jobs, a book about working life in American cities, and appeared on the cover of a hair magazine in 1988. She taught at Medgar Evers College and took part in career days there. After relocating from New York to Maryland in 2000, she opened Essentials Beauty Spa in Laurel, which ran for nine years. She has also spoken at industry events and exhibited at trade shows.
Hall created Brwists and the Gelané hair care line, and started Natural Trendz Education. She is known for working quickly and focuses on creative styling of the crown. She intends to go back to working directly with clients one-on-one at the Atlanta location.
