Radbeh Torabi, MD

Radbeh Torabi, MD, is a surgeon at Elite Plastic Surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He earned his MD cum laude from the American University of Antigua in 2010. Earlier, he worked as a research assistant in otolaryngology at Wayne State University School of Medicine from 2008 to 2009 and as a research assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in 2009.

His post-doctoral surgery research fellowship at the Transplantation Biology Research Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, ran from 2010 to 2012, followed by general surgery residency at the same hospital from 2012 to 2014. He then completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center from 2014 to 2020. His research training covered vascularized composite allotransplantation, including hand and face transplantation, and he also trained in microsurgery.

His specialties are autologous breast reconstruction and perforator-based free flap surgery. He was recognized as an outstanding plastic surgery resident and received the Scholarly Research Award at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and he received a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health in 2011.
