R. Luke Sturgill, MD is a facial plastic surgeon with dual board certification who works only on the face at Meridian Plastic Surgeons. He completed a fellowship under Dr. Stephen W. His signature operation is the Extended Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift, which lifts the deeper facial layers together as a single unit instead of tightening the skin alone; results last 10 to 15 years or longer. He also performs rhinoplasty through either an endonasal or open approach, eyelid surgery, endoscopic brow lifts, lip lifts, facial fat grafting, neck and jawline contouring, facial implants, buccal fat reduction, skin resurfacing, and otoplasty for both adults and children. He personally carries out every procedure at the practice's accredited surgical center in Carmel. During consultations he uses advanced imaging to display a simulated preview of likely outcomes. He favors a preservation rhinoplasty that retains the nose's natural bridge and structural support and places all incisions inside the nose. Many of his patients travel to Carmel from other states. After an extended deep plane facelift, patients typically need two to three weeks before they feel comfortable in social settings, whereas a lip lift or buccal fat reduction may allow a return to daily routines in about a week.
